Axis A22 Test Rides Winning Over Riders

Axis A22 Demo on Boone LakeChris Leeds emailed us after riding behind the Axis A22 (@AxisWake) on Boone Lake in Johnson City, Tennessee this past weekend. Chris's buddy Greg Lettich scheduled a test drive with CBK Watersports and invited Chris to check out the A22. Chris was at the lake with his Super Air Nautique 220 so he figured he would take a set behind the A22 to see what this price-point wakeboard boat was all about.

"I figured there was no way that a less expensive boat could throw a very good wake," Chris admitted to us. Chris and his wife met up with Greg on the lake and here's what he thought of the Axis A22 in his own words.

I rode over to the boat and it looked simple but really edgy. As I stood on the platform, my wife drove our boat over to park next to the Axis. While I could defiantly see the difference when it comes to bells and whistles, the Axis had everything you could need to ride all day long. The interior was super roomy compared to my Nautique which was the same length. I loved the bow space, that is my favorite interior feature.

That was all fine, but what really matters is the wake. So Greg set the rope length to 75 feet. The first thing I noticed was the wake was super clean. Not only where I was riding at 75' but way back. The first time I hit the wake was so smooth, but it kicked me way up. I had just gotten done riding behind my loaded 220 (2400lbs) and the Axis was defiantly bigger, cleaner, and more consistent. The wake was so much fun. I was really tired from riding a long set behind my boat, but I didn't want to quit.

I wasn't looking for a new boat, but that wake made me think about it.

What amazing compliments, Chris! Thank you so much for taking the time to try the A22 and then sending us this email. We hope to see you in an A22 real soon. Take care.

Greg Lettich's Axis A22 Test Drive Review

Greg Lettich scheduled an Axis A22 Drive N' Ride with CBK Watersports in Kingsport, TN on Boone Lake in Johnson City over the weekend. We heard from Greg on the Axis Wake Facebook page this morning. This is what he had to say:

Going from my I/O to this is no comparison. The Axis holds turns so well without feeling like it tips. It is so stable and solid. It is a well built boat and all the features are great. It has every option you would need and it’s at a price point everybody can respect. The boat has great manufacturing and it is backed by tried and true research for sure. I cannot wait to get mine ordered. The one I tested this weekend made me fall in love with this boat, from the 18s that hugged the road and gave so much response to the trailer lights that light up once the trailer hits the water. The boat is so roomy inside and the hidden ballast is so nice instead of walking over bags everywhere. The wake is something that just amazed me. It was so clean and never had hints of whitewash, even without balanced weight on the sides. I love the wake very much and will enjoy riding it for a long time. On a last note, I was unsure about the windshield at first and I have come to really like it and see the benefits of it. You are able to talk to your rider and able to grab the cleats on the side for docking. I absolutely think this is a great built boat and it rides like a dream. A+ to Axis wake Research! Cannot wait to get mine ordered!

Wow! We're so happy you liked it, Greg. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Make sure you send us some pics when you take delivery of your A22.
