Axis A22 Wake Boat on Water in Austin Feburary 7th

Austin Area Axis Wake Research Dealer, Central Texas Water Sports, is getting the new A22 wakeboard boat on the water for you February, 7th from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the famous Hula Hut on Lake Austin.

CTWS will have the A22 available to drive as well as, time and crowd permitting, ride behind. If you can't make it to Austin's Axis A22 Demo Day get a third-party perspective on the A22's performance.

Axis A22 Wake Pics and Performance Evaluation

Scott Flanagan and Jojo Lemberg from the Wakeboard Coalition School of Wake Dallas, Texas had the opportunity to demo the new Axis A22 at Lake Lewisville last week. He has posted an entire photo gallery of the day on Photobucket and he was gracious enough to allow Axis Wake Research to post his comments and his wake photos on our blog and flickr channel.

The A22 Scott took out was outfitted with the 900-pound WakeBox 900 ballast system, which is standard in all A22s. The boat was also equipped with the optional Auto Set Wedge. The Auto Set Wedge creates another 1000 pounds of displacement. Scott and his buddies also added another 1000 pounds of weight to the boat to simulate the optional Plug N Play ballast system Axis offers, which was not present in the A22 he tested. The available Plug N Play system with custom Fly High sacks from Barefoot actually starts at 1275 pounds so the boat would have been little heavy with that option.

Jojo, who is the founder of the Wakeboard Coalition and the rider featured in many of Scott's shots, is 6 feet tall. You can use his height to gauge just how tall the A22 wake is. Jojo was ridding at 22.7 MPH, according to the A22 speed control system, which boats comes with standard. Jojo's line length was 75 feet and the Auto Set Wedge was down.

When Scott posted his test data on WakeWorld.com he wrote this, "The Boat is awesome. Wakes are big and clean and the transition from wake to wake is one of the best I have ever rode. Everything in the boat is well designed and well built."

One of the first features of the A22 people notice is the windshield. It gives the boat a unique style, but it was actually developed to accomplish several different usability goals. Scott experienced the convenience of the A22 windshield firsthand.

"The windshield in the boat is very user friendly. It makes it way easier to talk to and see riders in the water and blocks the wind just as good as a normal windshield dose and I think its more functional for the type of ridding we all do." He continued, "Around the dock the windshield makes it way easier to hold the boat in place and grab the dock."

Meet Axis Managing Director Adam McCall and LOL

The Axis Wake Research Team is a lot of fun and it consists of all types of people. Pro riders, Axis employees, boat owners, Axis dealers and any other Axis Wake enthusiast is considered a member of the team. The common thread, members all love to ride and no one takes themselves too seriously. The Axis Wake Research Team is all about fun.

Adam McCall is Axis Wake Research's Managing Director and one of the company's funnest and funniest characters. One of adam's nicknames is Cobra Kai, as you can see by the photo. We came across Adam's Facebook page today and a bio he wrote. We did a lot of "lol" so we had to share.

"Adam has short arms, crooked teeth, and a really big butt. He hails from Maryville, TN but now lives in CA with his Malibu brethren. He is educated in many forms of ninja kicks, judo punches, and Chuck Norris chops. He enjoys long walks on the beach, Neil Diamond albums, and ponies. Adam has an impressive array of awards to place on his mantle, including "Phi Mu Greek God, 2000" and an award in 8th grade for "Greatest Hair"...Adam considers both accomplishments more important than anything else he has ever done. Adam is, at best, a mediocre board sport enthusiast but claims to be able to surf, wakeboard, skate (inline skate of course), and snowboard...we highly doubt this all to be true except for inline skating. Adam legitimately can rock out on a pair of inline skates, doing criss-crosses, toe touches, and has even attempted a loop-t-loop. Adam is highly educated, supposedly holding degrees in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, and Finance but you'd never know it, as he rarely shows much more than a middle school education. He claims that he works best when the shapes and figures have color codes, but that he can, when needed, draw inside the lines on his own."

Wakeoutlaws.com Photographed Axis A22 at Houston Show

The folks at Wake Outlaws visited the 2009 Houston International Boat, Sport & Travel Show prior to show opening on January 2nd. They came across Darryl and Johnny from Darryl Moore's Marine in Spring, TX and noticed they were unwrapping a 2009 Axis Wake Research A22.
