The Axis Family Video
Axis Wake Research (@AxisWake) is rooted in wakes, performance and styling at a fair price. While Axis owners appreciate this list of attributes, the most important thing to most of them is having fun on the water. This latest video from the world's fastest growing wakeboard boat brand, gives life to that point. Sure, these families' A20s or A22s could go straight from their garage to a pro tournament, training session or photo shoot. But most Axis-owning families are more likely to be found tearing up the water at a local lake with a boatload of friends. That's what life's all about! The simplicity of the Axis design joined with professional-level performance and an accommodating interior makes it the perfect boat for families as much as pro riders like Randall Harris and Dean Smith. Just launch and go! No worries, just fun! The Tillers know what that's all about.
In this latest Axis Wake video you'll meet Betsy who's 8 years old, Ella who's 11, Todd and RT who is 77 years young. RT is the one shreddin' on the wakeskate. This is the Tiller family and as you will be able to see from the video, they enjoy their Axis. That's not because they are professional riders, but because they like being together and having a good time on the water. Also look for Courtney Painter, Wendy Warren and Phil Aslinger in "The Axis Family" video. Their the ones having fun. Oh wait, everybody is having fun. I guess they will be difficult to pick-out. Watch the video and see for yourself.

4th SA Pro Tour Stop
Axis Wake Research (@Axiswake) in association with the 4th SA Pro Tour Stop.Cape Town is known for hosting a great event and this year was no exception with the 4th SA Pro Tour Stop being held at the Milnerton Aquatic Club on the 2nd and 3rd of April 2011 in association with Billabong, Sport Unlimited, Axis Wake Research and Liquid Force.
The competition started on Friday with registration and official practice. A total of 48 riders entered in the event. Open Men Wakeboard and Wakeskate had the most competitors prompting the organizers to create a new division for this contest, “Novice Wakeskate”.
Extreme Boating’s Axis A22 Wake Boat was then loaded; the ‘wedge’ deployed and was ready to produce that perfect wake as the Wakeboarders took to the water. The Junior Men division saw some new entrants from the Cable who showed that they could also pull their weight behind the boat. The Open Men’s division would see two local favorites, tour leader Craig Eygenberger and Dean Engela hot on the heels of Gauteng rider Kevin Goosen going into the Sunday finals. In the ladies and pro men’s qualifier it was Gina Faccio and Dylan Mitchell who secured the top seed going into Sunday’s Finals with some solid riding in the choppy waters.

Axis USA & Australia Team Up to Sign Wakeboarder Dean Smith
Axis Wake Research (@AxisWake) welcomes the free-riding, massive air professional Australian wakeboarder Dean Smith (@DeanwSmith) to the team. Check out the video Alliance Wake Magazine put together of Dean shreddin behind the A22.
When asked about his new team, this is how Smith responded, "I couldn't be happier on joining the Axis team! It is a company that shares that same passion about wakeboarding as I do, and is moving in a positive direction in the process.” Smith continued, “Having Randall and Keith as team mates is also a huge factor for me. Having 2 of the most innovative riders in world on the same team is a huge honor, and will only push me with my own riding. I'm looking forward to the 2011 season!”
On the pro wakeboard scene since 2004, Smith is no stranger to the podium. He has inflicted years of domination on the Australian Pro Wakeboard Tour. In 2010 he won the hearts of wake fans around the world by becoming the WWA Men’s Wakeboard World Champ. This underdog’s success is proof that if you want it bad enough and train hard enough victory is always within reach.
“I have so much respect for Dean’s riding, versatility and professionalism,” says David Thorpe, National Marketing Manager of Axis Wake Research Australia.
Smith is the first native Australian to earn the title of Wakeboard World Champ. He was born in Sydney in 1984 and still lives there for half of the year. He splits time between his birth place and Orlando, FL wakeboarding as much as he can on both sides of the globe. Together Axis Wake Research USA and Australia are keeping Smith in an Axis wakeboard boat whether he is Stateside or Down Under. This way Smith’s rigorous training schedule can remain just as intense no matter his location.
“Sticking to the Axis roots for pro athlete consideration, it is such a logical fit. Just like our boats, the rider’s attitude, style, and skill level must find balance. Deano has that,” explained Adam McCall, Managing Director for Axis Wake Research. “We at Axis look forward to working with Dean and seeing mutual benefit to the brand and to his riding career.”

Axis on South African Pro Tour Podium
Here's what Sean emailed us about his victory.
"The Americans took 1st and 2nd, but it was an incredibly tight final that could have gone any way. The run that I put together was harder than any contest run that I have ever done and somehow I managed to stand up (which never happens). Palma rode right before me and put the pressure on. He killed it and really pumped me up for my ride. In the end, I managed to pull ahead by 0.5 points for the win. Morgan ended up coming in 3rd just behind us. It was one of the best finals that I have ever seen. There are some riders here that are insanely talented and I'm excited to be working with them for another 3 weeks."
Congratulations on the win, Sean and good luck with the rest of your trip! See you soon!

Axis Introduces Compact A20 Wake Boat for 2011
Axis Wake Research is now bringing their brand’s focus of simplicity, style and performance to market in a new 20-foot package. The new 2011 Axis A20 is designed for riders and families with room for 11 and versatile wakes that can morph from mellow to pro-level. Maintaining the look of the Axis A22, the new A20 adheres to the core values of this uncomplicated boat brand with a small stature for towing and size restricted lakes. The A20 offers convenient size, usable design and stylin’ performance for a price that comes in under budget.

The Size
At 20 feet long from bow to stern the A20 is designed to be as convenient to tow and store, as it is fun to drive and ride. The A20 is the perfect solution for families who ride on boat length-restricted lakes, garage their boat or tow with a mid-sized vehicle. The goal for the A20 is to provide as much interior room and wake performance as a much larger wakeboard boat in a more manageable package. Thanks to A20 hull design and a rider-centric interior layout, Axis Wake Research has succeeded in their quest to create a 20-foot boat that does not compromise convenience, comfort or performance.
The Wake
The Axis Wake Research Team modeled this 20-foot boat after the A22 to kick-up pro caliber wakes. An un-weighted A20 has a very mellow and extremely stable wake, perfect for beginners and skiers. However, when you combine the standard Wakebox 800 Ballast System with the available Plug-N-Play ballast system and auto-set wedge, this wake will keep even pro riders amped.
Being the only standard hard tank, sub-floor wake enhancement system available in the price-point class, the Wakebox is comprised of three hard ballast tanks mounted below the floor in both the rear and center of the boat, totaling 800 pounds. Opt for the Axis Plug N’ Play Ballast System and add up to 1300 pounds or more to your A20 in the form of custom designed Fly High sacks. The Plug N’ Play ballast fits nicely in the rear storage lockers and in the bow under the seat cushions, leaving room for storage in both areas. All locations can be filled and drained with switches on the dash. Looking for another 1000 pounds of displacement? Add the exclusive Axis Auto Set Wedge and you will bring your wake footprint to nearly 3100 pounds of displacement. All of this without compromising floor space and barely encroaching on your storage areas.
The Interior
The A20 has room for 11 with lounge seating covered in corrosion-resistant G&T Premium Grade 30 oz. Marine Vinyl. The under-seat storage can swallow all the gear and more. Under-seat storage lighting is available for function and chill factor in red, white or blue LED colors. The machined aluminum AXray kick panel offers enough visibility to keep track of your items along with an amazing look, especially when lit. The ballast-free rear storage area is unobstructed and offers an above engine storage bin to gently warm those chilly wakeboarding accessories like wet suits, rash guards and life vests. Seating is customizable for a variety of riding situations and there is plenty of room for all your friends and family. The rear seat is branded as SkyBox seating and gives passengers VIP treatment with a removable bench that can be positioned anywhere in the center of the lounge. Axis also designed the available ChillAX convertible walk-through seat to accommodate another wake sport spectator and provide a back rest for an additional passenger in the bow. Studded with stainless bead-blasted grab handles, available MTX speakers, textured vinyl, colored accents and a laser-cut Axis badge, the side panel is something you would expect to see in a much more expensive boat. The TriAX Bow is wide enough for a group not just a couple and its open lounge style is the ultimate in comfort. Even the transom has convenience and style built-in with a rider staging seat, tooled in.
The Driver Experience
The Helm of the A20 welcomes a driver and as many as four observers with comfortable seating. The oversized driver’s seat is equipped with dual density foam and the dash ergonomically designed for perfect driver control.
At the dash, the Axis gauges include scrolling digital screens displaying everything from fuel to depth to cruise control functions. Three-stage rocker switches command nearly every boat system with ease. The standard power plant provides 335 horses of fuel-injected power. Axis offers the 400 horsepower Raptor engine for those riders that love to show some muscle. Both engines are available with a saltwater package. The A20 extends driver control with rack and pinion steering and a phenomenal ride, even in rough-water.
The Look
The A20’s gel coat accents introduce accents of color to a sharp hull and deck design. The A20 has a customizable look. Choose from three gel coat layouts, Straight-up, Flip-side and the available Tricked-out scheme. You can even opt for a completely solid boat available in 18 different colors and 3 metal flake gel coats. Looking to turn a few more heads on the water, pull the trigger on the Vandall Edition Package. Complete with a custom Vandall wrap this special edition A20 is set-up the same way Axis Pro Team Rider Randall “The Vandall” Harris configures his Axis.
The aggressively styled bow finishes the tough look and adds another unique element to this price-point boat. The collapsible FatAX tower combines oversized 3-inch black powder coated aluminum tubing and billet aluminum bases for a one-of-kind rear sweeping wakeboard tower that is easy on the eyes. The FatAX tower is through-bolted to the deck with a backing plate for added strength. No corners cut, just pricing slashed. The Wingless MH Windshield accentuates the rugged simplicity of the A20 and allows the driver to dock easily without leaving the seat.
The Guarantee
All of this performance, accommodation and style is created with production practices and materials approved by the best selling water sports boat manufacturer in the world. Axis Wake Research is offering price-point segment-leading Limited Lifetime protection complete with a 3-year engine warranty including fuel and electrical systems and a 2-year bow to stern warranty, the second year covering parts only.

New Axis A20 Video
Axis Wake Research (@AxisWake) continues to look to the customers to tell us what kind of boats we need to design. We bring to you the all new Axis A20. Maintaining the general look and style lines of the Axis A22 the A20 brings some unique advantages, for those of you who need to store your boat in a smaller garage, or who use it on lakes that have length restrictions or even need to tow the boat behind a smaller vehicle, the Axis A20 is the boat for you. We looked at our competitors 20 foot offerings and it’s the same old story. In order to get a price point boat you have to give up styling, performance and interior room. But through thoughtful engineering and design we are confident that when you look at the A20 you will see we have not given up anything. The A20 is a unique hull design. You will find that the A20 when unweighted is a very mellow and extremely stable wake, perfect for the beginner. However you will see that when in conjunction with our Plug-N-Play ballast system this wake grows to make even the pro riders happy. To experience the new A20 in person, visit your nearest Axis Wake Boat Dealer.

Vandall will be joined by Axis Product Expert Matt Bishop, and professional riders Trevor Maur, and Daniel Walden. The team will be lead and kept out of jail by Managing Director, Adam McCall. McCall had this to say about the crew he’s formed for this journey, “Vandall needs no explanation as to why he’s with me and Keith would have joined but he and I decided that the WolfPack would maintain our steeze on the Pro Tour and at Nationals. Matt is extremely knowledgeable about Axis and wears many different hats for the company as well as is real good at telling me that my riding lacks Vandall’s style. Trevor is not only a great rider, never so much as crossing the wake without a proper grab, but he is a professional wake coach on the West Coast. Daniel is our staff chef, because he can lay down some cuisine like none other, but he also is a pro rider, having made it to semi-finals at the KY Pro Tour Stop a few weeks ago, in a speedo… giving him clear title to ‘Boldest Rider on the Pro Tour’.”The crew will travel from dealership to dealership educating the crowd on the art of wakeboarding with style and the 2011 Axis Wake Research line of boats, all while having a great time meeting everyone.
A few Axis Dealers have built entire events around their Axis PVT Stop. This Sunday Morse Lake Inboard hosted a beach party at Bella Vita Resort on Lake Geist, in addition to offering boat demonstrations and a wakeboard clinic. Munson Marine has scheduled their Petite Lake Party Gras on the same day as the Illinois stop.
The Tweets and Facebook updates will be flying with this group. Make sure to tune in to the Axis Wake social media channels to keep up on their antics! (@AxisWake on Twitter or Axis Wake on Facebook)

Get Your Swag on With Axis Wake
Axis Wake Swag designs are simple, but distinct with an extremely attractive look. The company’s signature sideways “A” and cross hairs says a lot within a concise framework and it is incorporated into every design. Even if you don’t own a boat yet, you’ll want to pick up some of this high quality apparel.
Instead of sporting the same brands that line the shelves at the local mall, you can turn heads by wearing a company that promotes style, simplicity, performance and price.
Adam McCall, Managing Director for Axis Wake Research, had this to say about the new swag. “Building excellent boats is our core competency. We have developed this new program in a way that allows us to focus on our core competency while still creating excitement for the Axis Wake Brand through high quality, stylish apparel. We have developed a clothing line that will give customers something to be proud to wear. In conjunction, we’ve created the Axis Ink site to bring the ideas for styling straight out of the minds of the wake market.“
This new Project Adam is referring to, Axis Ink, is a concept which is a direct carry over from the way Axis Wake Research boats are designed - for the rider, by the rider. Axis Ink will be an online location, which allows customers and wake enthusiasts to post videos, pictures, and submit artwork for use in the Axis Wake apparel line and even participate in the boat graphic designs for new Model Years. McCall went on to say, “We plan to launch Axis Ink in the coming months and we are determined to prove, in everything we do from apparel to boat design, that Axis Wake Research is directed by our customers and the ideas of the wake market.” Further details on Axis Ink will surface soon.

Axis Style and Performance Attracts Another Free Riding Pro
Welcome, Keith Lyman | AXIS WAKE RESEARCH from JAOPRO on Vimeo.
Axis Wake Research (@AxisWake) is Keith Lyman's wake boat manufacturer of choice.Wakeboarder Keith Lyman is going big behind an A22 as the newest member of the Axis Wake Research Pro Factory Team. Known for his unique riding style, his dedication to the sport and clean living, Lyman joins, Randall “The Vandall” Harris representing the industry’s fastest growing wakeboard boat brand. The Axis Wake Team now fuses the highest-flying, strongest style riders of the East and West Coasts into a team of professional athletes who are all about the ride and perfecting their craft. Lyman is a free riding legend and, like Harris, the embodiment of Axis Wake Research. The company is stoked to have him on board.
Check out the gallery of Keith Lyman's Axis Wake photos on the Axis Wake Research Flickr channel.
This is what Lyman had to say about the logic behind that choice. “I believe in the company, everything from the way their boats are built to their moral stance within our industry.” Lyman went on to say, “I’m stoked to see that Adam McCall [Managing Director for Axis] is an actual wakeboarder! He gets it! He is extremely switched on and has an understanding for keeping things simple! A quality that a lot of individuals and companies are seeming to stray from these days.”
Lyman believes the most important thing in life is, “staying positive and happy.” This guy may go huge behind his A22, but he is extremely grounded. Lyman prides himself on clean living and looks up to other riders who do the same.
Lyman’s list of respected, stylish, freeride mentors includes the “Who’s Who” of wakeboarding, with Ben Greenwood and Shaun Murray ranking right up there, but when we asked Lyman who has been most influential, he didn’t even blink before he answered, “Randall Harris.”
A motivating factor in Lyman’s decision to ride for Axis, his admiration of, Team Axis Pro Rider, Harris goes beyond wakeboarding. When we asked Lyman why he looks up to Vandall he responded, “Because he came from corruption to the light, as well as being unappreciated and black-balled, back in the day, to becoming one of the most respected and appreciated riders when he came back after taking a break for 2 plus years. He is the baddest rider on planet earth. He is wakeboarding.”
When Lyman had the opportunity to get behind the price-point wake boat rooted in style and performance, he was amped! Lyman said this after sessioning behind an Axis A22 for the first time, “…all I can say is WOW! It was awesome! It definitely opened my eyes and I can't wait to get one of my own!” He continued, “The wake is all around world class! It’s the way a wake should be! It’s huge, really clean, a good width and a perfect shape; great for ridin’ big or for just poppy wake to wake riding.”
Adam McCall, Managing Director of Axis Wake Research, had this to say about the newest member of the Axis Team. “The synergy with Lyman and Axis is clear. He’s a simple guy who rides because he loves it, takes every trick into the flats, and has a style all his own. His riding’s only rivaled by his positive attitude and work ethic.” McCall concluded, “He is an exciting addition to our team!”

Axis, You Got Me!
Check out this cool email Axis Wake (@AxisWake) received from Mark Klein this morning.
After 29 years of racing motocross I decided it was time to switch gears so I went out and bought a new wakeboard boat in 2007. 375 hours later on the hour meter... I have been toying with the idea of getting a new model year wakeboard boat.
Countless hours behind the keyboard has yielded one thing. You GOT ME! I’m in, I want an Axis A22. I have to hand it to your marketing department and their relentless progression of utilizing all the latest web technologies to get the word out.
Living in upstate New York we have a plethora of fresh water lakes to shred that we cram 100’s of hours behind the wheel and rope each summer in our short 5 month New York summers. Can't wait to get my hands on an Axis A22!
Thanks for your time and a huge JOB WELL DONE!
Best of luck to you and your team. If you ever find yourself in upstate NY and looking for some buttery water to shred, look me up!
Sincerely
Mark Klein
Thanks for the email Mark! Keep shreddin' man and we hope to see you in an A22 soon!

Greg Lettich's Axis A22 Test Drive Review
Greg Lettich scheduled an Axis A22 Drive N' Ride with CBK Watersports in Kingsport, TN on Boone Lake in Johnson City over the weekend. We heard from Greg on the Axis Wake Facebook page this morning. This is what he had to say:
Going from my I/O to this is no comparison. The Axis holds turns so well without feeling like it tips. It is so stable and solid. It is a well built boat and all the features are great. It has every option you would need and it’s at a price point everybody can respect. The boat has great manufacturing and it is backed by tried and true research for sure. I cannot wait to get mine ordered. The one I tested this weekend made me fall in love with this boat, from the 18s that hugged the road and gave so much response to the trailer lights that light up once the trailer hits the water. The boat is so roomy inside and the hidden ballast is so nice instead of walking over bags everywhere. The wake is something that just amazed me. It was so clean and never had hints of whitewash, even without balanced weight on the sides. I love the wake very much and will enjoy riding it for a long time. On a last note, I was unsure about the windshield at first and I have come to really like it and see the benefits of it. You are able to talk to your rider and able to grab the cleats on the side for docking. I absolutely think this is a great built boat and it rides like a dream. A+ to Axis wake Research! Cannot wait to get mine ordered!
Wow! We're so happy you liked it, Greg. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Make sure you send us some pics when you take delivery of your A22.
